City Council met in adjourned session; Mayor F. C. Kimball presiding. Present: R. P. Howell., Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Absent: Clyde T. O'Nan The application of the American Legion for a Carnival at Morro & Mill Streets from November 3rd to November 12th incl was granted on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy seconded by R. P. Howell; license to be issued under regular Carnival license. The application of E. C. Wride for Parcel Delivery License was held over. Communication from U. S. Employment Service Re: alterations of Municipal Building at 738 Pismo St. was referred to the Commissioner of Finance, with power to act, on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary. - Communication from Jerry Richards addressed to Joseph Leary, tendering his resignation effective Nov. 1st, 1944 was accepted on motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by R. P. Howell. James 71aldmeier was appointed Asst. Chief of the Fire Dept. as of Nov. 1st, 1944, on motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy, On motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy it was ordered that William Villegas base pay be $185.00_:as of November 1st, 1944 and to assume such addition duties as be directed by the Chief or Asst. Chief. Robert Speer was appointed regular fireman as an experienced fireman at base pay of $175.00 per month on motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy. On motion of R. P. Rowell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy the meeting adjourn Approved this day of City Clerk
