Ochs & Son for the construction of the ewage works addition ( contract). On motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G.W.Baker, the City Attorney was instructed o submit a nevi proposed water ordinance for the Council's consideration. Earle Boyce'requesting permission to leave the State for four or five weeks was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G . Vi . Bake r The Merchandising Bond bf Lillian B. Jordan in the amount of $200 with the Hartford Accident and Indemnity Co. as surety was received and on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by G.W.Baker, the surety was accepted, bond approvedand license ordered issued, as was also the bond of Harold B. Lee, and 0. W. Birra, C. C. Lang and 'i+. H. Pfleghaar as security in lieu of bond. The following transfer pf city licenses were granted on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by R. P. Howell: Brown's Sport Center - 986 Monterey St., from B.W.Brown to Chas. Crowley San Luis Fish Co. - 680 Higuera St. from George Echols to C.R. Kirby E1 Obisoo Cafe - 895 Higuera St. from Ed. Greenall to Stanley V.Cole and Robert A.Dahl Rose's Variety Store - 750 Higuera St. from G. A. Rose to Leon L. Dyer Renewals of applications for quarterly licenses were granted on motion of G. W.Bake r, seconded by Kline Williams, I i4 The report of the City Clerk Clerk and City Treasurer for the month of 1 h1ray, 1947 were ordered received and filed. The following matters were ordered received and filed: Communication from IIo31is B.Brown , making application for position in Police Dept. Communication from Board of Supervisors Re: in the matter of housing prisoners for the City of San Luis Obispo Communication from Chamber of CoMerce requesting the Council's permission for the U.S.Army Recruiting Service sound truck to appear on the streets of the city to licize the Hollywood Stars Pacific Coast League Baseball game between July 10th and July 14th, 1947. Permission was granted. The report of the Park, Playground and Recreation Commission for the year 1946- 1947 was received and ordered filed, and the Proposed Budget for 1947 -1948 as submitted was accepted on motion of 4Vm. 0. Hall, seconded by G. IN. Baker. The City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids at•Public Auction, the sale of the City Hall and site; bids to be onened August 4th, 1947 at 7:30 P.M. On motion of G. W. Baker, seconded by Kline Williams the bill submitted by firs. ',:'ard at 1444 Morro St. in the amount of $119.52 for patching; street and repairing sewer line at the above address, it was agreed that the city assume one -half of the cost of this bill or $59.76 and stating that this is an isolated case and not made as a precedent. On motion of G. V1. Baker, seconded by Kline Williams, the Commissioner of Supplies was authorized to try and purchase a fire truck from the U. S. Government of their surr,lus commodities•eauipment. Ordinance No. 226 (Neva Series) - An Ordinance creating the office of Deputy City Clerk, prescribing--the duties thereof, and fixing the amount of bond for said office was finally;-;passed on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by G. -1. Bad r. The following matters were ordered received and filed: Communication from Housing Authority Re: cow roaming at large Communication from Paul R. Goodnight Re: application for position in Police Dept. ce: petit ion of Steve Zegar to move taxi office to ::- onterey St. entrance of the Anderson Hotel was again taken up and on motion of reline Williams, seconded by R. P. Howell the request was granted and the Police Department was instructed to paint the taxi zone. The application of transfer of the Leluxe Cab Co., together with communication from Daphne M. Graham, protesting the location of a taxi zone in front of her place of business at 1029 biorro St. was again held over. Communication from J. B. Pence, Box 96, San Luis Obispo, requesting the City Council to consider adopting a new Plumbing Code; this matter was referred to the Com- missioner of Public Works for investigation and report. The City Clerk was instructed to w rite various cities in California requesting conies of their Sewer and Water Ordinances. Ivlr. Allan Ochs, Contractor, and John E. Smee, sub - contractor, for the new Sewage Disposal Plant Addition, appeared before the Council, stating of their repeated attempts to get delivery on essential equipment ordered for the Disposal Plant, with continued delays by the Manufacturers, who blamed the steel shortage for inability to make deliveries. At Mayor O'Reilly's suggestion, he agreed to make a further insistent demand upon the equipment company for specific commitments on delivery dates. On motion of R. P.
