Halls Permit to conduct Revival services in tent at 970 South St. by Rev. Sadler Application for License to conduct a Motel at 1656 Monterey St. dba "Sunbeam Motel" filed by Nicholas J. Murphy Application for Lunch Connter by Catherine and Ceclia Isola at 723 Marsh St. Application for Restaurant at 998 Monterey St. dba "Casa Raya" Application for Mdse. ( Furn. and Antiques) at 884 No. Broad St. filed by Joe Ries, dba ®Joe's.Place ". Application of John C. Anderson at 188 Brook St. for 2 Taxicabs was referred to the Com- missioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report. Application of A.G.Trester for Restaurant at 689 Upham St. was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety. On motion of Kline Williams, seconded by R. P. Howell, the following transfer of City Licenses were granted: Transfer of Heyd's Norwalk Service Station at641 Higuera St. to C. C. Bozley, dba "Bozley's Service Station ". Transfer of Warden's Cafe at 1136 Carmel St. to Zana M. Bosio, dba "Zana's Cafe ". The application for transfer of location of Joe's Second Hand Store from 673 Palm St, to 884 No. Broad St. was denied on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G.J, Baker. On motion of Wn.. 0. SPECIAL CALLED MEETING A Special called meeting of the City Council was held on August 23, 19489 Mayor Timothy I. O'Reilly presiding. Present: G.W.Baker, Wm. O.Hall, R.P.Howell, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Kline Williams Absent: None The meeting was called-for the purpose of discussion on the matter of revising the Ordinance levying the tax rate for the current fiscal year 1948 -1949. After discussion, and on motion of I.-lm. 0. Hall, seconded by G. W. Baker, the Mayor was authorized to write Mr. A. G. Mott, Director,'Valuatipn Division, State Board of Eaualization, regarding the figure the State Board of Equalization used in arriving at the ratio used, and calling to their attention the County Auditor's figure which would entitle the City to an adjustment.
