Present: D.M.Carpenter, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Frank V.Woods. Absent: Wm. 0. Hall, Kline Williams The minutes of the meeting of July 3rd, 1950 were approved. Communications: From the State Employees' Retirement System Re: City's participation on a 50% basis. was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works, Wm. Hall, for study and report on motion of Frank V.Woods, seconded by D.M.Carpenter. Petition from E.H. Atkinson et al Re:.parking conditions in the 1000 Block on Higuera 8t.1, requesting 90 minutes time limit, was referred to'the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of D.M. Carpenter, seconded by Timothy I. O'Reilly. The application of Hamilton Bros. for registration as a Class "E" Contractor (painting) together with The Century Indemnity Co. bond it the amount of $500. and registration fee of $15.00 received, and on motion of D.M.Carpenter, seconded by Timothy I. O'Reilly, it was ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted. The following applications for transfer of city licenses were granted on motion of Frank V.Woods, seconded by D.M.Carpenter: Christensen Texaco Station at 636 Higuera St. Osos Liquor Store, at 1601 Osos St. Edith's Cafe at $$2 Marsh St. to Esther Louise Simmons The application for transfer of City Licenses of the Elmo, Obispo and Fremont Theatres from the San Luis Obispo Theatres Inc., to the Far West Theatre Corp. was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report, on motion of D.M. Carpenter, seconded by Timothv I. O'Reilly. The following applications for city licenses were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of D.M. Carpenter, seconded by Timothy I. O'Reilly:- Al Calkins - Taxicab License -.( 6 cabs) dba Black & White Cab Co. John Boriack- " " 6 " " Twin Cab Co. The following matters were ordered received and filed: City Clerk's report for the month of June, 1950 City Auditor's " rr 1+ 1 tt n " Copy of Planning Commission meeting of June 16, 1950 The Council approved the claim inthe amount of $3000. on the Water Fund filed by Harry N. Jenks for Progress payment on Consulting Engineer's services. Claim in the amount of }$2304.22 for the Toro Street Water Line Improvement, payable to Allen C. Ochs, covering payment on-Engineer's Estimate No. 1 was approved and ordered paid by the Council, on motion of D.M.Carpenter, seconded by Frank V.Woods. Communication from John E. Smee Re: Completion of Phillips Addn.Sanitary Improvement job was again held over pending Cit�r Engineer's report. Communication from the City Attorney reporting his opinion on the State hmployees' Retirement S.rstem contract, together with the Contract was ordered received and filed. The application for transfer of the Park Hotel was again held over. Ordinance No. 332 (New Series) - An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 292 (New Series) entitled: " An Ordinance to regulate, restrict, and segregate the.location of industries, business, trades, apartments, dwellings and other specified uses; to regulate and limit the height and size of buildings hereafter erected; to.regulate and determine the area of yards and other opeh spaces; etc., was passed to print on motion of D.M. Carpenter, seconded by Frank V.Woods upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: D.M.Carpenter, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Frank V.Woods Noes: None Absent: Wm.0.Hall, Kline Williams
