Resolution No. 964 (New series) - A Resolution of the City Council of the City of San Luis Obispo approving Agreement for Maintenance of State Highways in the City of San Luis Obispo was adopted on motion of ldm. O.Hall, that Donald E. Barker he appointed as Regular Police Officer as of June 15, 1950. Mr.E. J.L.Peterson,District Engineer, Divn. of Highways, presented a Proposed Freeway Map thru the City, which was reviewed by the City Council,- no action taken at this time, as E. H Rorabeck and W. F.Ross, Motel operators, called the Council's attention to the lack of exit ramps on the freeway. Mr. Petersen assured the groups that such ramps would be supplied. Frank Cheda filed a petition with some 400 signers protesting the closing of Broad Street at the Freeway. The petition was referred to the Planning Commission for study and report on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by Frank V.,Woods. It was moved bir Wm. O.Hall, seconded by F -rank V. Woods that the City Attorney be instructed to draft Resolution covering " Boulevard Stops" as per list submitted. Requirements" for improving existing City Street Light System showing changes and adr'itional lights required together with maps was ordered received and filed for further reference. The 1950 -51 Proposed budget as presented by City Auditor, Herbert Grundell, was held over for further study at the request of the Mayor. Final estimate.( plus extra work as authorized bythe City) on the Peach Street Extension Project No. 9, contract with Madonna Construction Co., as presented by Citv Engineer, Guido Ferini, was approved by the Council and payment authorized.. Final working plans on the new Proposed City Hall were presented to the Council by Wm. D. Holdredge who reviewed the plans at this time. It was decided to hold the matter over for further study. .Communication from the State Employee's Retirement System, outlining the rate of Jt contribution of miscellaneous employees, police and firemen, to be paid by,each employee, ih the event the City entered into a contract with the State, was reviewed by the Council and on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by D.M.Carpenter, it was ordered that each employee be informed of their approximate cost, and an election be called for all city.employees to vote by departments on a secret ballot. Old Business;, The application for the transfer of the Fremont, Obispo, and Elmo Theatres, from San Luis Obispo Theatres, Inc. to the Far West Theatre Corp. was granted on motion of Frank V.Woods, seconded by Kline Williams. The application for the transfer of the Park Hotel from Albert J. Woods and Gladys Wood to Henrietta Ouesnal was granted for the remainder of the July quarter ONLY, on motion of Frank V.Woods, seconded by Wm. Oil Hall. Communicationfrom Smee's Plumbing Co. Re: completion of the Phillips Addn. Sanitary Imp. Dist. project, was against held over awaiting final report from the City Engineer.
