Present: D.M.Carpenter, Paul W.Davis, Fred Lucksinger, Timothy I. O'Reilly Absent: Frank V.Woods Firs order of business: This being the time set as per advertised Notice forreceiving Bids on FOOTHILL WATERLINE IiP., the following bids were received and publicly opened and read: 1 - W.M. Lyles Co., P.O,Box 889, S.L.G. Amt. 11,0$6.30 2 - ';Jestern States Engineers, Inc. Los Angeles, 12726.50 3 - L.E. Webb Constr. Co. Santa Maria, Calif. 92490.60 After studv and review it was moved by D.M.Carpenter, seconded by Fred Lucksinger, the bid be awarded to L.E. Webb Construction Co. of Santa Maria in the amount of $192490.60 and the following Resolution be adopted: Resolution No. 1153 (New Series) - A Resolution accepting Bid for Foothill Water Line was passed and adopted on motion of D.M.Carpenter, seconded by Fred Lucksinger upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: D. M. Carpenter, Paul W. Davis, Fred Lucksinger, Timothy I.G'Reilly Noes: None Absent: Frank V.Woods The Public Works Dept. was authorized to hire 1','illie Mac Baker, Sr. Engineering Aid on a six months probationery period at $268.00 per month as of Oct. 31, 1952. The Council granted approval for installation of Utilities for providing heat and lights to the new lookout tower on Terrace Hill for "Operation Skywatchrr. On motion of D.M.Carpenter, seconded by Fred Lucksinger, the City Engineer was authorized to purchase approximately $1500 worth of water pipe from the L.B.Nelson Co. pipe to be used on west Foothill hater line extension.
