HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/07/195526 .Mayor- Lucksinger reported to the Council on a letter hevrote to the Commanding Officer of the 444th Government Co. regarding possible construction of an armory in the City of San Luis Obispo. IlIayor'Lucksinger's letter was approved by the Council. i`Ir. Elmer Moody appeared before the Council requesting that Commander Gullickson, Asst. Director, Civil Defense for the City of San Luis 0, ispo, be authorized to attend a me:.ting of Civil Defense people in Sacramento, Oct. 10th and 11th. This was referred to Mr. Richard I- 7iiller for his recommendation. Request of Mr. BEd Atkinson that a survey of traffic and its control be made at the corners of Broad and Lincoln St. and Lincoln and Chorro Streets was referred to the Traffic Committee for study and investigation. On motionof Kenneth W.Jones, seconded by Nels Beck, the meeting adjourned. Present: Nels Beck, Lowell E.Christie, Warren G.Edwards, Kenneth tid.Jones, Fred H.Lucksinger Absent: None At this time the Council considered the Final Passage of Ordinance No. 7 Re: Rezoning certain real property in the City of San Luis Obispo to C -3 in the High, Upham and Broad Streets area. The Mayor asked if anyone pres•:;nt would like to say anything further in regard to the rezoning. There were no comments, except Mr. and Mrs. Doser wished to express: their appreciation and consideration of the Council 'sdecision in this matter. A motion was inorder for final passage of this ordinance. Councilman Lowell E.Christie moved that the Ordinance No. 7 ( 1955 Series) be adopted to rezone this area to C -3. Motion lost for want of a second. A motion was made by Warren G.Edwards, seconded by Nels Beck, that the Ordinance No. 7 ( 1955 Series) be denied by the Council upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: Nels Beck, Warren G.Edwards, Kenneth W.Jones, Fred H.Lucksinger Noes: Lowell E. Christie Absent: None Resolution No. 16 ( 1955 Series) -- A Resolution accepting " Auditing Proposal" of Viilleford and ?.Viltshire for 1955-56 was passed and adopted on motion of Kenneth W. Jones, seconded by Nels Beck upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: Nels Beck, Lowell E.Christie, v'arren G.Edwards, Kenneth W.Jones, Fred H. Lucksinger Aloes: None Absent: hone Resolution No. 17 ( 1955 Series - A Resolution providing for Stop Signs and Time limit zones was passed and adopted on motion of Kenneth W.Jones, seconded by Nels Beck upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: Nels Beck, Lowell E.Christie, Warren G.E,dwards, Kenneth W.Jones, Fred H. Lucksinger Aloes: None Absent: None Ordinance No. 9 ( 1955 Series) - An Ordinance amending Chapter 3 of the San Luis Obispo I.,unicipal Code entitled " Parking Meters" by adding Section 3200.2.1 entitled " °iunicipal Parking Lots" was passed to print on motion of Nels Beck, seconded by Kenneth W. Jones upon the following vote: Ayes: Kels Beck, Lowell E.Christie, Warren G.Edwards, Kenneth W.Jones, Fred H. Lucksinger Noes: None Absent: None Resolution No. 18 ( 1955 Series) - A Resolution providing for acceptance by the City of San Luis Obispo of proposal by the Teper Tube Pole Co. for purdhase of parking meters for parking meter lot was passed and adopted on motion of Kenneth W.Jones, seconded by Lowell E,.
