Mayor Davidson stated that at the last meeting of Mayors and Managers Congress that the members had discussed this matter and decided that they.would discuss this sharing with the County Board of Supervisors in,an attempt to reduce the present percentage which is out of line with adjoining counties. Mayor Davidson stated that the Mayors of all the Cities in the County would be following this matter very.closely. 32. Copy of communication from William Froom of Laguna School Board :to Mr. Rhodes, Superintendent of Schools, requesting school development ' in the vicinity of Los Osos Road and Madonna Road outside the City of San Luis Obispo was ordered received and filed. 33. Communication from Regional Water Pollution Board regarding Public Law 660, Sewage Treatment for 1962/63 fiscal year. Mr. Miller, Administrative Officer, reported that the City staff is preparing an application at this time. 34. Mr. Houser, City Attorney, reported to the City Council on the decision of the Civil Aeronautics Board in allowing the carriers to decide which airport they wished to use in this county. Mr. Houser reported that the Pacific Airlines had decided on retaining Paso Robles as their county'. airport. Mr. Houser further stated, that the City's Attorneys in Washington stated that they would be willing to appeal this decision at no expense to the City other than office supplies. Mr. Houser stated that in discussing this with the Washington staff, it would serve no purpose in appealing this decision as the C.A.B. decision was unanimous. H.- Fitzpatrick 1. R. D. Miller, Administrative Officer, reported to the City Council on the results of the study of salaries being.paid by neighboring communities and the other public and private agencies in San Luis Obispo. He stated that after determining the average median salaries, it appeared that,to keep our salaries in line this city's pay salaries should be increased by an average of about 2.5% Mr. Miller stated that about 20 classifications out of 52 in the city's service seemed to indicate a full range increase in addition to the 2.5% or a total of 8.4 %. For the most part, these classifications involved only one-employee each with a total of 30 employees. Exceptions to this were five of the clerical classes involving 13 employees.
