ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
May 25, 1967 - 12:00 Noon
CITY HALL
Present: Councilmen Blake, Gallagher, Miller, Spring and
Mayor Whelchel
Present: R. D. Miller, Administrative Officer; J. H. Fitzpatrick,
City Clerk.
1. Mayor Whelchel reported to the Council the results of his meeting with the
Mayors of the Cities in San Luis Obispo County regarding the sharing with the
County of a portion of the sales tax collected in the cities.
On motion of Councilman Blake„ seconded by Councilman Gallagher, that the City
of San Luis Obispo,would go along with the proposal to reduce the share of the,
sales to the County to .005 in 1968, .0025 in 1969 and the final .0025 to be
subject to negotiation. Motion carried.
2. Communication from the Mechanical Engineering Department at Cal Poly requesting
permission to use the City owned Laguna Lake to test an experimental torsion bar
boat built by students at Cal Poly. Permission granted with Cal Poly to assume all
liability.. .
3. City Council continued their study of the proposed 1967/68.City Budget starting
on Page 63 and ending on.page 95 inclusive.
4. On motion of Councilman Gallagher,.seconded by Councilman Spring, the meeting
adjourned to 7:30 P.M. Thursday, June 1, 1967. Motion carried.
