ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL

I. R. D. Miller, Administrative Officer, reviewed for the City
Council the 1973 -1974 priority schedule for street work as prepared by
the City Engineer, May, 1973.
The projects were broken down into three (3) categories:
I. Select system streets which were financed from gas
tax funds;
2. Local streets which were financed from general funds
or gasoline sales tax funds when the contracts were
contracted out; and
3. Chip seal coats paid for out of City general funds
with the work conducted by City forces.
R. D. Miller, Administrative Officer, also reviewed for the City Council
the sources and amounts of funds available for continuing the street
program as presented.
Councilman Gurnee urged the City Council not to spend all the funds on
street reconstruction and repair, but to allocate some funds for develop-
ment of priority bicycle paths and also to implement a Dial -a -Bus service.
The City Council then proceeded to establish a priority list of the three
(3) categories presented by R. D. Miller, and also a future study of
bicycle paths, etc.
On motion of Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Graham, the follow-
ing resolution was introduced: RESOLUTION NO. 2464, a resolution of the
Council of the City of San Luis Obispo approving the City's annual
transportation claim against the Local Transportation fund of the County
of San Luis Obispo, and designating a portion thereof for planning purposes.
Passed and adopted on the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmen Brown, Graham, Gurnee, Norris, and
Mayor Schwartz

2. Communication from La Fiesta requesting permission from the
City Council to reserve a parking place for the Fiesta bus to transport
tourists from the Mission Plaza to the Veterans Building or vice versa,
during the Fiesta. The Council approved the above request.
3. Communication from the South Central Regional Coastal Commission
notifying the City Council that under Proposition 20, urban planned
areas may be excluded from the permit requirements of the Regional
Coastline Commission upon request of the city or county. A. J. Shaw, Jr.,
the City Attorney, was asked to write to the South Central Coast Commis-
sion asking for clarification of the zones established under Proposition
20.
4. The request of Chief Building Inspector J. Kellerman for the
City to take certain action on Senate Bill 323 and Assembly Bill 352
was continued for Council study.
5. Communication from the City of Half Moon Bay requesting Council
support of tax equalization to support coastal zone local governments
who were affected by Proposition 20, was ordered received and filed.
On motion of Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman Brown,
the meeting adjourned to Monday, May 14, 1973.
