City Council met with Assemblywoman Hallett to review statewide legislation affecting cities during the past legislative session and areas of concern to the City Council in future sessions. 2. City Council adjourned to 12:10 p.m., Monday, September 22, 1980, Council Hearing Room, City Hall. COUNCIL HEARING ROOM, CITY HALL, 990 PALM STREET Roll Call Councilmembers PRESENT: Melanie Billig, Alan Bond, Ron Dunin, Jerry Munger and Mayor Cooper ABSENT: None City Staff ' PRESENT: Lee Walton, Administrative Officer; George Thacher, City Attorney; J.H. Fitzpatrick, City Clerk; Henry Engen, Community Development Director; Geoff Grote, Assistant City Attorney; D.F. Romero, Public Services Director -------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- 1. Rob Rossi, Richmond, Rossi and Montgomery, Planning Consultant firm, presented for the council's consideration a concept for a proposed multi -use commercial development in the area bounded by Monterey Street and Higuera Street between Santa Rosa and Court Street. The proposal also included the closing of Osos Street between Monterey and Higuera. The project, as presented, would include: 1) public parking;. 2) a department store of 40,000 square feet; 3) miscellaneous shops of 60,000 square; 4) offices; 5) hotel of 150 rooms; 6) condominium apartments, 20 units; 7) and a theater remodelled into three units. Total development would comprise 550,000 square feet of building space.
