I've been to a Community Forum that was presented at the SLO County Library & reviewed all the proposed plans. The favored plan seems to be Alternative #6. This plan requires significant private property acquisition part of which is three (3) parking spaces that are currently being utilized by The Mortgage House on property I own which is in a long term lease with Rob Rossi who in turn leases to the Mortgage House. SLOCOG has put in a tremendous amount of time & planning & I understand the need for a new Transit Center. But in these tough economic times, I would have hoped to save money that they would have looked at property the City of SLO already owns. One parcel that comes to mind is the old Emerson School site (for those of us who have been here a long time) which currently is home to the Parks & Recreation building. It is bordered by Nipomo, Pismo, Beach & Pacific Streets. Flat land, easy access & not even considered. That doesn't make sense to me! I know it's your job to review & guide SLOCOG in the right direction but with the City finances as tight as they are, I would hope consideration of property the City already owns would be important. Thank you for considering my concern & suggestions. CO email: L ° CDD DIR R ° FTr DIR Karen Corda Adler GFIRECHIEF S G UTI.DIR o HR DIR NEWS G COUNCIL G M MGR o CLERIC
