Dear Councilmember Marx,
I don't know... maybe some political leaders like having to worry about being attacked by anonymous
special interests, but I'm betting you're not one of them. That's I'm writing to urge your support of AB 1648,
the California Disclose Act.
The Supreme CourtOs 5 -4 Citizens United decision unleashed the floodgates of anonymous spending on
campaigns by ruling there could be no limits on outside spending by corporations, unions, or individuals.
We need an antidote like AB 1648
People are really mad at all of the deceptive anonymous political advertising, and really care about
disclosure. I certainly do!
Please act to restore the voter's confidence in our political process by supporting AB 1648 and
championing its passage. We need your leadership!
