Dear Councilmember Marx,
Hidden money has way too much influence on our political system. That's why I was excited to see AB
1648, the California DISCLOSE Act. I'm hoping you'll help it pass.
The Supreme CourtAs 5 -4 Citizens United decision unleashed the floodgates of anonymous spending on
campaigns by ruling there could be no limits on outside spending by corporations, unions, or individuals.
We need an antidote like AB 1648
How wonderful it would be to have real disclosure in California so that our elected officials don't owe
anything to anybody besides the voters!
