I am very pleased to know that the City is actively pursuing the land for open space as I live just two blocks from the land and know that best use of the property is open space. The electrical - caused fire in that area just a few years ago demonstrated the importance of not developing the area as it is not truly accessible for emergency vehicles. Plus keeping the land undeveloped adds to the aesthetic quality of the area and keeps with voters interest in preserving open space within and around the city. ' ^1 I totally and strongly support the City's acquisition of the property and ask that you vote to complete the transaction during your June 5, 2012 meeting. Sincerely, Shirley Peterson Goodwin.
