Trailhead Parking: 1. Along Patricia Drive the there are signs pointing you to the Patricia Drive Trailhead. These Signs should probably read Bishop Peak Trailhead. Less confusing. 2. You may want to place signs encouraging people to park on the West Side of Patricia Drive to help alleviate concerns by the neighbor. 3. Trailhead signs. Most likely the trail sign at the front should indicate Bishop Peak Trail and Felsman Loop, not just TRAIL. 4. At the top of Highland you may want a sign that indicates additional parking can be found on Patricia Drive. This might help people better find their way to the easier trailhead. 5. Make the "Closes at Dusk" signs more visible and prominent. You may also want to post the fine amount. Trash Cans: 1. 1 like the addition of the trash cans at the two trailheads. They should be located inside the trail corridor right next to the "Pack Your Poop Out" and keep "Dogs on Leash" signs if at all possible. Please do not have them outside the trailhead as other people will most likely just back up and deposit trash. 2. Not sure if you want a recycle bin on Patricia Drive or not as a trial. Trails: Not sure if a trail was considered to go around the backside of Bishop Peak as part of this update connecting to the Felsman Loop. There are good reasons to build it and also good reasons to not build it. Please comment on this at the City Council Meeting. a. If it was built, it may help disperse hikers to the other trail sections like the Felsman Loop and create a loop trail for those accessing the peak. This could help control erosion and an maybe lessen travelers from Foothill Blvd. It may entice more people to use the Patricia Drive Trailhead. b. Not building the trail helps protect habitat and wildlife on the back side of the Peak. It may also help prevent trespass to the 4 homes on the West Flank of the Peak. Bishop Knoll Development: 1. If Bishop Knoll Development is approved, adding parking to reach Bishop Peak may be warranted. If I had to choose a more sustainable route, I think I might route the trail to come out near the Quarry as it reaches the oak trees. Grazing and Equestrian: 1. 1 see you are going to a split pasture system. Which is fine. Does this mean you are going to also repair the access points and fences to the Bunnell Parcel as a possible third grazing field? 2. Is the intention to also keep equestrians off the Ferrini Parcel? Thank You for your time. Sincerely, Gary Felsman San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 ( This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. www.avast.com
