Subject: Request from Residents for Quality Neighborhoods
Honorable Mayor and Council members:
AUG , 91015 D
SLO CITY CLERK
COUNCIL MEETING: D 1 `ZC7r
ITEM NO.:A_
I want to lend my support to the request from RQN to expand the noticing time for developments in the
City. It seems that San Luis Obispo is exploding with new building and remodels. It should be the
priority of the City to notice all adjacent and semi- adjacent owners and occupiers of impending change.
Further, I would suggest that the Mayor and Council members be informed of building permit requests
at the first level. It seems absurd that as it stands a Council member might only be informed of building
permits if someone files an appeal. Council members were elected to preserve and protect the sense of
place here in San Luis Obispo. They should be among the first to know when significant change is about
to happen in terms of remodeling and construction.
Thank you for your service,
Diane and Jim Duenow
