The project will consist of seven 3- to 5 -story residence hall buildings containing a total of 1,475 beds, an adjacent four -level parking structure, large open spaces for outdoor activities, and community /retail spaces for a small caf6, community room, game room, mail room, welcome center, and office /work spaces. Cal Poly is focused on providing the foundation for student success, Research has shown that students who live on campus their first two years stay in school and graduate at a higher rate. PROJECT FEATURES LEED Certification This project will be guaranteed LEED certified. Solar Energy Planning for a 1.1 megawatt solar system to be installed on the rooftops of the residential buildings and parking structure, Pedestrian Pathways A sidewalk will be constructed along Slack Street, between Grand Avenue and the G -2 parking lot along Longview Lane, and continue toward campus. As well, a pathway through the complex will connect with Mustang Way in the heart of campus. Low - Impact Development Features Storm -water management features such as bio swales, permeable paving, and gabion walls will be used throughout the project and displayed on signs.
