ORDINANCE N0. 1008 (1984 Series)
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO AMENDING
DIVISION I OF TITLE 17 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING
USES ALLOWED IN THE C -N ZONE (CR1122 -A)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commision and City Council have held hearinvr, to
consider appropriate use regulations for the C -N zone in accordance with Section
65800 et. seq. of the Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed regulations are
consistent with the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the change has been evaluated in accordance with the
California Environmental Quality Act and the City's Environmental Impact
Procedures and Guidelines and a negative declaration has been granted by the
City; and
WHEREAS, the proposed zoning promotes the public_ health, safety and
general welfare;
follows:
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as
SECTION 1. Section 17.04.371 is added to Chapter 17.04, to read as
follows: "Shopping center" means a development with at least five separate
establishments which share common drives and off - street parking.
SECTION 2. Certain lines or cells within the chart comprising Section
17.22.010 are amended to read as follows:

SECTION 3. Certain lines or cells within the chart comprising Section
17.22.010 are added or amended to read as follows:

SECTION 4. For each of the uses to be allowed in the C -N zone as provided
in Section 3, a numbered note shall be added, to read as follows:
In the C -N zone, the following types of uses are allowed provided that (1)
the gross floor area of each establishment shall not exceed 2,000 square feet and
(2) the combined floor area of such establishments within a shopping center, or on
a parcel which is not in a shopping center, shall not exceed 25% of the total
floor area: .
- retail sales and repair - bicycles;
— retail sales and rental - specialties.

SECTION 4. For each of the uses to be allowed in the C -N zone as provided

SECTION 5. After review and consideration, the determination of the
Community Development Director to grant the project a negative declaration
is hereby affirmed.
SECTION 6. A summary of this ordinance, approved by the City Attorney,
shall be published once at least three (3) days prior to its final passage,
in the Telegram- Tribune, a newspaper published and circulated in this city,
and the ordinance shall take effect at the expiration of thirty (30) days
after its final passage.
INTRODUCED AND PASSED TO PRINT by the Council of the City of San Luis
Obispo at a meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of
April , 1984, on motion of Councilman Griffin , seconded by
Councilwoman Dovey and on the following roll.call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Griffin',- D&f&y, Settle and Mayor Billig
