AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN LUIS OBISPO APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO
SAN LUIS OBISPO MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 5.44.040
(MOBILEHOME RENT REVIEW BOARD COMPOSITION)
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as
follows:
SECTION 1. Section 5.44.040 of the San Luis Obispo Municipal Code is
amended to read as follows:
5.44.040 Mobilehome rent review board - Established - Membership -
Terms.
A. There is established a mobile home rent review board consisting
of five members who; shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of
the Council.
B. The board members shall be persons who are not connected with
the real estate or rental housing industry for their personal gain. None
of the members shall be tenants of or have any financial interest (as
defined by state law) in any mobile home or mobile home park. The members
shall file a declaration to this effect with the City Clerk in a form
approved by the City Attorney.
C. Board members shall not be compensated for their services as
such, but may receive reimbursements as provided by the Council for
traveling and other expenses -bzcurred while on official duty.

D. Terms of office shall be two years. A board member may serve no
more than four consecutive full terms (eight years). Terms shall be
staggered and shall cammmnence on April 1st. Appointment to a partial term
of office following an unscheduled vacancy shall not preclude the
appointee from serving four consecutive full terms following canpletion of
the partial term; provided the partial term is less than one year.
Vacancies shall be filled for unexpired terms. All of the procedures and
requirements contained in the council adopted "Handbook for Advisory
Bodies" shall be incorporated in this section by reference.
SECTION 2. This ordinance; together with the ayes and noes; shall be
published once in full, at least three (3) days prior to its final passage
in the Telegram- Tribune, a newspaper published and circulated in said
City, and the same shall go into effect at the expiration of thirty (30)
days after its said final passage.
