AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
GRANTING A NEGATIVE DECLARATION ON ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AND
DELETING THE EXISTING PLAN LINE ON BROAD STREET BETWEEN
MONTEREY AND HIGUERA STREETS AND BETWEEN PISMO AND HIGH STREETS
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered an environmental initial study, staff
reports, and recommendations, Planning Commission recommendations, and public testimony
regarding a proposal to delete the Broad Street plan line between Monterey and High
Streets; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that eliminating the existing plan line
will cause no adverse impacts on the environment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that allowing the existing plan line to
remain in its present configuration will unduly restrict the use of properties bordering
the street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that widening those portions of Broad Street between
Monterey and Higuera Streets and between Pismo and High Streets will result in
unnecessary disruption to the established residential neighborhoods and development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council has granted a negative declaration on environmental
impact and approves of deletion of the plan line on Broad Street between Monterey Street
and Higuera Street and between Pismo Street and High Street.
SECTION 2. This ordinance amends Municipal Code Section 17.74.130 to read as
follows:
"An official building setback line is established on both sides of Broad
Street, from kHiguera..:Streete to_- ithe;i.s!outheas.terly: city;,aiziit:,line excepting
therefrom that portion from Pismo Street to 114igh Scree ,;,,fror -'fo ty" feet` from
the existing centerline of said portion of Broad Street."
SECTION 3. This ordinance, together with the ayes and noes, shall be published once
in full, at least three (3) days prior to its final passage, in the Telegram- Tribune, a
newspaper published and circulated in this city. This ordinance shall go into effect at
the expiration of thirty (30) days after its final passage.

of Councilman Settle seconded by Councilwoman Dovey , and on the
