HomeMy WebLinkAbout1078ORDINANCE NO. 1078 (1986 Series) ' AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO ADDING CHAPTER 17.87 (MAJOR OFFICE DEVELOPMENT PERMIT) TO THE SAN LUIS OBISPO MUNICIPAL CODE' BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as_ follows: SECTION 1. Chapter 17.87• of the San Luis Obispo Municipal Code is hereby added to read as follows: 17. 87.010 PURPOSE AND INTENT : ' The City Council has authorized the comprehensive study of office use and development in San Luis Obispo. The purpose of these regulations is to ensure that new larger -scale office projects proposed during the course of the study do not eliminate broader planning options that the City Council may want to consider. 17 .87.020 AREAS-OF APPLICATION: Provisions of this chapters shall apply to all land within the office (0) zone within the center city area defined on the Figure 1. 17. $ 7 . 030- DEVELOP14ENT AFFECTED : Provisions of this chapter shall apply to all Architectural Review Commission applications for buildings in excess of 5000 square feet received after October 1, 1985. 17. 87.040 PER1.11T -REQUIRED: Before any office building regulated by this chapter may be constructed, a development permit must be approved by the City Council. 17. 87.050. PUBLIC HEARING NOTIFICATION: - Prior to acting on applications, the council shall hold a public hearing, notice of which shall be given by publication in the local newspaper at least 10 days before hand. 17. 87.066- FINDINGS REQUIRED: In order to grant a development permit, the council must find that the project to be developed is consistent with the general plan and the Goals for Downtown. 0 1078 Ordinance No.1078 (1986 Series) Page 2 17.87.070 CONDITIONS ;OF APPROVAL: The council may establish conditions of approval to assure compatibility of the office building with the existing neighborhood. 17.87.080 EXPIRATION OF THE ORDINANCE: This chapter shall expire April 1, 1987, or when revised office zoning provisions, initialed by the City Council, are adopted, whichever comes first. SECTION 4. This ordinance, together with the ayes and noes, shall be published once in full, at least three (3) days prior to its final passage, in the Telegram- Tribune, a newspaper published and circulated in said city, and the same shall go into effect at the expiration of thirty (30) days after its said final passage.
