ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR MILK INSPECTION IBPAR ' + NT.
Be it ordained by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo
as follows:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm,
corporation, agent or employee of any person, firm, or corporation,
to sell, offer for sale, distribute, or have in possession for
sale or distribution, any milk or cream for human consumption
as milk or cream, unless it conforms to the standards of grading
and to the requirements for the production of milk and cream,
established by the Pare. Milk Law, Chapter 390, Statutes of
1923, of the State of California and amendments. In addition
thereto whole milk must contain not less than 3.5 per cent fat
and must be from non - reacting tuberculin tested cows.

Section 3. Except as in this section otherwise provided
it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corporation, or
agent or employee of any person, firm, or corporation, to sell,
offer for sale, distribute, or have in possession for sale or
distribution, any milk or cream in the City of San Luis Obispo,
until a registration fee of twenty -five hundreths of a cent for
each gallon of milk distributed during the calendar month pre-
ceding be paid into the City Treasury. Such registration fee
shall be paid on or before the 10th day of each calendar mont'Z.
It shall be lawful for any person, firm, or corporation, paying

a registration fee for the previous month to continue the sale or
distribution of milk or cream during the first ten days of a
calendar month before paying the registration fee for the current
month. These fees shall consf.tute a milk inspecting fund and
shall be expended solely for the enforcement of the provisions
of this Ordinance.
Section 4. The receipt for registration fees shall be
deemed a permit allowing the sale of milk by the person to whom
issued for the calendar month in which it was issued and shall be
posted in a conspicuous place either .in the delivery wagon or
other regular place of business of such person.
Section 5. Any person, firm, corporation, or agent or
employee of any person, firm, or corporation, who violates any
provision of this ordinance, or any rules and regulations made
hereunder, shal-1 be gdilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a
fine of not less-than twenty -five dollars (25.00) nor more
than three hundred dollars ($300.00), or not more than twenty
(20) days in jail, or both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
