HomeMy WebLinkAbout1114I ORDINANCE NO. 11 14 (1988 Series) AN URGENCY : - ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO SUSPENDING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A PART OF ORDINANCE NO. 1102 RELATING PARKING STANDARDS TO UNIT SIZE WHEREAS, on October 20, 1987, the City Council did adopt Ordinance No. 1102 which did amend various sections of the Zoning Ordinance including Table 6 within Section 17.16.060 which lists parking requirements by use; and WHEREAS, among the adopted changes was a modification to the requirements for dwellings which related parking standards not only to the number of bedrooms but also to unit size; these changes were included on pages 7 -8 of Exhibit "A" referenced in Ordinance No. 1102; and WHEREAS, aforementioned changes to the parking standards were to correspond with concurrent changes to the density standards; and WHEREAS, the changes to the density standards were not adopted pending further public input and review; and WHEREAS, the intent was clearly to have the two sections correspond; and WHEREAS, there is consequently considerable potential for confusion and inequity in implementing the aforementioned parking standard changes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows: SECTION 1. That the above mentioned changes to the parking standards adopted by Ordinance No. 1102 and illustrated on attachment "A" hereto shall be suspended indefinitely and the parking standards for dwellings in effect prior to adoption of Ordinance No. 1102 shall remain in effect. SECTION 2. That given the clear and significant potential for substantial confusion and inequity relating to this issue, the Council does hereby adopt this as an Urgency Ordinance which shall take effect immediately upon adoption, and shall be advertised within five (5) days of passage, however, failure to advertise will not affect its validity.
