Be it ordained by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as f ollows : t SECTION 1. Section One of Ordinance No.22 of the City of San Luis Obispo entitled, "In Relation to Streets and Sidewalks in the City of San Luis Obispo" is hereby amended to read as follows:— Sec. 1 The. width of the sidewalks on each side of the_ streets in said City of San Luis Obispo, is hereby established as follows.: In all streets of seventy feet or more wide, at twelve feet. In all streets sixty feet wide and less than seventy feet wide, at ten feet. In all streets fifty feet wide and less than sixty feet wide, at eight feet. In all streets forty feet wide and less than fifty feet . wide, at six feet. In all streets- thirty feet wide and less than forty feet wide, at four feet. In all streets, lanes and alleys less: than thirty feet wide, at three feet. Provided however, and notwithstanding anything here.inbef ore contained, that the sidewalk on the Westerly side of Higuera Street, from an angle point in the Westerly line of Higuera Street which bears N. 80 06' E., 164.36 feet from the intersection of the Northerly line. of Marsh Street produced, with the lesterly line of Higuera Street, southerly to the City Limits shall be eight feet wide; and the siddwalk on the Easterly side. of Higuera Street from an angle point in the Easterly line of Higuera Street which bears N. 80 06' E., 30.9 feet from the intersection of the Easterly line of Archer Street with the Southerly line of Higuera Street; southerly to the City limits shall be eight feet wide. And provided further, and notwithstanding anything hereinbefore the estimated cost thereof being 1 20,000.00. SECTION 3. By resolution No. 267 (New Series) regularly adopted at a previous meeting of this Council by favorable vote of over four—fifths of all the members of this Council it was determined and declared that all the improvements and acquisitions mentioned in Section 2 of this ordinance are demanded by the public interest and by the public necessity; that the estimated cost thereof is as set forth in said Section 2; and that the cost of said acquisitions and improvements, and of each thereofi is too great to be paid out of one ordinary annual income and revenue of said City. SECTION 4. The amount of the principal of the indebtedness proposed to be incurred is $ 45,000.00, and the rate of interest to be paid on said indebtedness is hW per centum per annum, payable semi- annuallyj both principal- and interest payable in Gold Coin of the United States of America. f ollows: SECTION 5. The manner of holding said election shall be as (1) As provided for in this ordinance. (2) As provided by law for holding elections of the kind herein called in said City. Tickets must be of ordinary election ticket paper and of such size and shape as to contain the propokitions to be submitted at the election hereby called.. The heading of such tickets must be substantially as follows: "General Wicipal Election and Consolidated Charter Amend- ment and Bond Election, City of San Luis Obispo." The propositions to be submitted at such election must be printed on such tickets substantially as follows: Shall the City of San Luis Obispo incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal sum of 1 25,000.00 for the object and purpose of acquiring and constructing an agitator, water pump, distributing mains and other additions to the sewage disposal plant and City Farm of said City; and for the extension of the present sewer system of said City.. Shall the City of San Luis Obispo incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal sum of 020,000.00 for thi N object and purpose of erecting, constructing and conDleting culverts, bridges and retaining walls in said City. YES NO Said words "YES" and "NO" shall be opposite each of said proposi- tions and in separate lines and opposite each of said words "YES"and "NO'' there shall be a.votine square. Each voter shall indicate his wish to vote in favor of a proposi- tion by stamping or causing to be stamped a cross (n) in the voting square opposite the word "YES" and shall indicate his wish to vote against the proposition by stanying.or.causing to be stamped a cross (X) in the voting square opposite the word "NO". Substantially the following shall be printed at the top of the face of the ticket: "INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS: To vote in favor of Charter amendments and bonding provisions, stamp a cross (X) in the voting square opposite the word, "Its". To vote against Charter amendments and bonding provisions, stamp a cross (X) in the voting square opposite the word, "NO". All marks except the cross. A) are forbidden. All distinguishing marks or erasures are forbidden and make the ballot void. If you wrongly stali-ip, tear or deface this ballot, return it to the Inspector of Election, and obtain another." SECTION 6. Said election is hereby called for and shall be held on the lst day of April 1929, in said City of San Luis Obispo, and notice. thereof is hereby given. SECTION 7. The election called by this ordinance is hereby consolidated with the General Lunicipal Election to be held in the City of San Luis Obispo on the lst day of April, 1929, and reference is hereby made to the Election Proclamation and Resolution of the city Council- of the City of Son Luis Obis-po calling said General lKnicipal Election, which said election proclamation and resolution,is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. The precincts, polling places and officers of election for the purposes of the election hereby called, shall be the same as those set forth in said Election Proclamation and Resolution of said City Council, calling said General Eunicipal Election to be held on the lst day of April, 1929. SECTION 8. This ordinance is hereby declared to be urgent and necessary to the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and - --2 -n-11 +-u- uoyan+ on, vp in free from and after its final passage. 1. SECTION 9. This ordinance, togethe.r with the Ayes and Noes, shall be published for two days in the "Daily Telegram ", a daily news- paper printed, published and circulated in said City, before its fin41 passage, and shall thereafter be published once a day for at least seven days before said election in said "Daily Telegram," No other notice of such election need be given.
