HomeMy WebLinkAbout0188NORDINANCE No. 188 (New Series) AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF CHIEF ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR; ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE "UNIFORM ELECTRICAL CODEtt; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND THE COLLECTION OF FEES THEREFOR; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo, as follows: SECTION 1. That a certain document,iny printed booklet form, as amended, three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of San Luis Obispo, being marked and designated, " UNIFORM ELECTRICAL CODE Published by the Pacific Coast Electrical Bureau ", which said copies, and all pages thereof upon which any amendment has been made.,-may be identified by the seal of the City of San Luis Obispo appearing thereon, be, and the same is hereby adopted as the electrical code of the City of San Luis Obispo; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of such " UNIFORM ELECTRICAL CODE Published by the Pacific Coast Electrical Bureau tt, as amended, on file in the office of the City Clerk, are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this ordinance. SECTION 2 The City Council may at any time, consolidate and place in charge of any other official of the City, the functions and duties of the Chief Electrical Inspector. SECTION 3. Before entering upon his duties, the Chief Electrical Inspector shall furnish a bond with a surety company as sole security, payable to the City of San Luis Obispo, in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($ 500.00) conditioned that said Chief Electrical Inspector will well, trulyp honestly and faihhfully perform the duties of his office; provided, however, that where the office of Chief Electrical Inspector is consolidated and placed in charge of another official of the City who has given a bond as such official, in a sum equal to or greater than $500.00, no separate bond shall be required of the Chief Electrical Inspector. SECTION 4. It shall be the duty of the Chief Electrical Inspector to file with the City Council, not later than the tenth day of each calendar month, a full report of all fees collected by him and a summary of all inspections made and work done by him during the pre - ceeding month, together with such further information as the City Council may require. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall cause this ordinance to be published for two days before its final passage in the Daily Telegram, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City of San Luis Obispo.
