HomeMy WebLinkAbout0213NORDINANCE NO. 213 (New Series) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 122 (NEW SERIES) BY ADDING A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION 32 RELATING TO TRUCK ROUTES. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows: SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 122 (New Series) entitled "An Ordinance Regulating Traffic Upon and the Parking of Vehicles on the Public Streets of the City of San Luis Obispolf, is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section to be numbered Section 32 and to read as follows: Section 32. The following streets and portions of streets are hereby established and designated as through truck routes for the movement of vehicles of two or more tons capacity designed for carrying merchandise, freight or material, to -snit: Street. Monterey Street, from the North City limits to Santa Rosa Santa Rosa Street, from the Northwesterly City limits to Marsh Street. Marsh Street, from the Easterly line of Santa Rosa Street to Higuera Street. Higuera Street, from the Northerly line of Marsh Street produced across Higuera Street, to the Southerly City limits. Broad Street, from Monterey Street to the Southeasterly City limits. Depot. Osos Street, from Marsh Street to the Southern Pacific Santa Barbara Avenue, from Osos Street to Broad Street. High Street, from Higuera Street to the Southern Pacific Railroad Right of Way. North Broad Street, from Monterey Street to North City limits. Monterey Street, from Broad Street to North Broad Street. All such through truck routes shall be designated by appropriate signs reading ''Truck Route.11 The operator of any vehicle mentioned in.this paragraph shall drive on such route or routes and none other, except when it is impractical to do so or when necessary to traverse another street or streets to a destination for the purpose of loading or unloading, but then only by such deviation from the nearest truck route as is reasonably necessary. SECTION 2. This ordinance, together with the ayes and noes shall be published for two days before its final passage in the Telegram - Tribune, a daily newspaper printed, published and cir- culated in said city, and shall take effect and be in force thirty days after its final passage.
