RR IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Sara Luis Obispo as follm7s;
SECTION 1. That the Lakewood Addition, as shcana on the attached "Exhibit
A% which is incorporated by reference, shall be and is hereby rezoned from a
1111 to an /9R -111 land use district.
SECTION, 2. That the Zoning-Map set forth in Section 92€ 0.5 of the San Luis
Obispo 16anicipal Code shall be amended to Indicate the change in zoning.
SECTION 3. This ordinance, together with the ayes and noes, shall be pub-
lished once in full, at least three days before its final passage,, in the Telegram-
Tribune, a newspaper published and circulated in said City, and the saw shall go
into effect at the expiration of 30 days after its final passage.

SUBJECT.. Planning Commission Recommendation "Regarding Rezoning of Lakewood Add °no
Attached for the Councils consideration is a resolution recommending that the
- property recently annexed As the Lakewood Addition be rezoned from a
.classified Land Use District, to an "R -1," Single Family Residential Zone4
Prior to the two public hearings held by the Planning Commission on this re-
aofiing proposal, notices were sent to all property owners within the area as
well as•those within 300 ft, of the area proposed to be rezoned. There has
been no word as fa result of the notices sent out, with the exception of Vitro
Flagg, Mr, Flagg is the owner of the Lakewood Addition property proposed to
be rezoned, Mr, Flagg phoned on the day the Planning Commission was to hold
.their second public- hearing on the Rezoning, tie asked that I have the matter
continued. I suggested it would be best for him to• "call the Chairman of the
Commission and request the postponement of.this matter, N-fr. Flagg objected to
this suggestion; I explained to him that it riould be to his advantage to.phone
the Chairman of the Commission or at least one of the Commission members beo
cause they were the ones that would be voting 'on the matter, Par. Flagg's.
request was made to the Commission by me when the matter came before them and
the Commission, by a majority vote, decided to adopt a resolution recommending
the City Council take action to change the land-use zone as proposed. I am
relating this to the Council because ,Mr. Flagg has visited this office subs
•sequent to the Planning Commission action and stated that he feels.that he
is being persecuted and that he would take it up with the Council,

REMMMENDING A CHANGE IN THE LAND USE
DISTRICT ON CERTAIN PROPERTY DESCRIBED
AS THE LAKEWOOD ADDITION,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of San Luis Obispo
has considered the existing land use zone of certain property described be-
low and the location, character and suitability for certain land uses of
said property; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has held two (2) public
hearings thereon;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of
the City of San Luis Obispo finds that the public interest and general.wel-
fare require a change in the land use district as follows:
That all lands described within Ordinance No, 228, passed and adopted
adopted on June 4, 1962, annexing certain lands to the City of
San Luis Obispo, said annexation generally described as the Lake-
wood Addition, Lots 0, P and portion of Q of the resubdivisions
of Lots 58, 61, 620 63, 64 & 65 of the subdivision of Ranchos
Canada de Los Osos and La Laguna, presently zoned "U,°' Unclassified
Land Use Districts be rezoned to f°R =1, °' Single Family Residential
Land Use District, and in accordance with the map entitled Exhibit
A attached hereto,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the
City of San Luis Obispo recommends that the City Council hold the necessary
public hearing and approve the land use district change as outlined herein.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of
San Luis Obispo, will holds public hearing on-Ordinance No. 243.
An Ordinance re- zoning the Lakewood addition from "U" to "R -1"
(see Ordinance and Exhibit "A" reproduced below)
So-id public hearing will be held on Nonday, November 5, 1962,
at-8:45 P. M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 990 -Palm Street,
Sari Luis Obispo, California.
