ORDINANCE N0. X49 (New Series)
BE IT ORDAINED �bp 'the Council of the City of
San Luis Obispo, as follows:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for.any person,
firm or corporation to hereafter erect, operate, maintain or
install in, on, or over any public street, way, alley or
place of the City of San Luis Obispo any pole line supporting
cables, wires or other conductors used to carry electric
current of more than fifteen thousand (159000) volts pressure,
except as provided in Section 2 hereof.
Section 2. Upon petition duly Piled with the
City-Council therefor showing the contemplated structure, its
location and voltage, and after due consideration thereof by
the City Council., said Council may in its discretion grant
exceptions to the foregoing restriction when in the judgment
of such Council such exception will not constitute a hazard
to the public, an interference with the public use of the
streets, or cause undue radio. interference.
Section 3. Upon receipt of written request
from the Superintendent of Streets stating that a complaint
has been received by him from a resident of the City of San .
Luis Obispo of interference in respect to radio equipment of
such resident, giving the name, address and nature of such
radio interference within said city, any person, firm or
corporation operating or maintaining any electric conductors
in, on or over the public streets,ways, alleys or places of

said city in that vicinity shall, immediately inspect its
said conductors, together with insulators, transformers
and electrical equipment employed by it within a reason-
able distance of the designated location.of said inter-
ference, and shall replace any broken insulators,'and
repair any defective lines, transformers and electrical
equipment in said locality,-owned by said person, firm,
or corporation, which may be found upon said examination
to be in such broken or defective. condition as might
reasonably contribute to such radio interference.
Section 4. Any person, firm or corporation
who shall wilfully violate,.or fail to comply with, any
provision hereof shall be liamle for the payment of a.fine
of one hundred dollars ($100) for each such offense..
Section 5.. This ordinance, together with the ayes
and noes, shall be published for two days before its final
passage in the Telegram- Tribune, a daily newspaper printed,
published and circulated in said City, and the same shall
take effect and be in force thirty days after its final
passage.
