HomeMy WebLinkAbout0259NORDINANCE No. 259 (New Series) AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO RELATING TO THE LEASE OF WATER FACILITIES. Be it Ordained by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo, as follows: Section 1. That the City of San Luis Obispo enter into that certain agreement dated as of January 1, 1945, entitled, "Lease of War Public Works. Project No. Calif. 4- 151 -F" between the United States of America and the City of San Luis Obispo, relating to the lease of certain water facilities constructed by the Federal Works Agency. Section 2. That the Mayor of the City of San Luis Obispo be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute said agreement for and on behalf of the City of San Luis Obispo, which execution shall be attested by the City Clerk. Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be urgent ..and immediately necessary for the preservation of the public - health and safety. The following is a statement of such urgency: The City of San Luis Obispo is now securing the major portion of its water supply through the facilities to be leased. Said facilities are owned by the United States of America and such ovm.er has required the City to enter into an agreement for the continued use of such facilities. Without the use of such facilities the water supply of the City.would be seriously impaired and this ordinance should, therefore, become effective at an early date. Section 4. This ordinance, together with the Ayes and Noes, shall be published for two days-before its final passage in the Telegram- Tribune, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City, and the same shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its final passage and approval.
