Notice of Special Flection.
An Ordinance calling and giving notice of the Special Election
to be 'held in the City of San Luis Obispo, for the purpose of
submitting to the qualified electors of said City a proposition
to amend the Charter of said City by adding a new Article thereto.
And Whereas the Council of the City of S&n Luis Obispo,
has directed the submission of a certain Charter Amendment to
the electors of said City at a Special Election and have ordered
said'Proposed Amendment to be published,.
Be it Ordained by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo,
as follows:
906t�ion 1. That a special election be, and the same is
hereby called t4 be held in the City of San Luis Obispo, upon
the '�- day of March
K. , 1913, for the purpose and
to enable the qualified electors of said City to vote upon the
Proposal to amend the Charter as hereinafter described;
Section 2. The special election_ hereby.ealled and ordered
to be held shall be held and conducted, and the votes thereat
received and canvassed, the returns thereof made and the result
thereof ascertained, determined and declared as herein provided
and according to the laws of the State of California, providing
for and governing elections of the kind hereby called. And
the polls of such election shall be and remain open, during
the time required by such law.

Section 3: The ballots to be used at said special election
shall be such as may be required by law to be used thereat and in
addition to any other matter required by law to be printed thereon
shall appear thereon the following:
MUNICIPAL TICKET.
To vote for the proposition to amend said Charter stamp a
cross (X) in the blank space to the right of the words
the
"For/Amendment ".
To vote against the proposition to amend said Charter, stamp
a cross (X) in the blank space to the right of the words "Against
the Amendment ".
Also said ballot shall have printed thereon the following:
CHARTER AMENDMENT No. I.
Adding a new Article to the Charter of the City of San Luis
Obispo, to be designated Article XVIII of said Charter relating
to and establishing a Police Court in said City and defining the
jurisdiction thereof.
FOR THE AMENDMENT (Square)
AGAINST THE AMENDMENT (Square).
Section 4: Any qualified elector of the City of San Luis
Obispo may vote at such election for or against the proposition
herewith submitted. To vote in favor of the proposition herein
submitted, he shall stamp a cross (X) in the square to the right
af the words " the Fo�Amendment" , printed opposite to the proposition;
and to vote against the proposition he shall stamp a cross (X)
in the square to the right of the words "Against the Amendment"
printed opposite to the proposition.
Each cross (X) stamped in the square to the right of the
words " For the Amendment" shall be counted as a vote in favor
of the proposition opposite to ex which said cross is stamped.
And laaeb cross (X) stamped in the square to the right of the words
"Against the Amendment" shall be counted as a vote not in favor
of the proposition opposite to which said cross is stamped.
Section 5: For the purpose of said election said City is
divided in three precincts as follows: all that portion of the
City of San Luis Obispo comprising general election precincts
Nos. 3,4 and 5 as established by the Boa? -. of Supervisors of the
County of San Luis Obispo in said City for the holding of the
last preceding general state election shall be consolidated and
known as and comprise Precinct No. 1. All that portion of the
City of San Luis Obispo comprising general election Precincts
Nos. 2 and 6, as established by said Board of Supervisors in said
City for the holding of the.last preceding general state election
shall be consolidated and known as and comprise Precinct No. 2.
All that portion of the City of San Luis Obispo comprising general
election precincts Nos. 1 and 7, as established by said Board
of Supervisors in said City for the holding of the last preceding
general state election shall be consolidated and known as and
comprise Precinct No. 3.
Section 6: The voting place for Precinct No. 1 is at Mission.
Hall in said City, and the following Board of Election is appointed
for said Precinct No. 1, to wit: Inspector, QdM.��Q4_

The voting place for Precinct No. 2 is City Hall of said
City, and the following Board of Election is appointed for said

City, and the following Board of Election is appointed for said

Section 7= This Ordinance shall be published for two days
before its final ;passage in the �
a Daily Newspaper, printed, published and circulated in said City,
and shall be published five times- -after its final passage and
approval and before the election hereby called in the
Aabove named paper.
Section 8: This Ordinance is hereby declared to be urgent
and immediately necessary to preserve the public peace, health
and safety and shall take effect from and after its final passage.
Introduced and passed to print this 10th day of February,1913,
