METER ZONES; REGULATI -NG AND CONTROLLING AND PROVIDING FOR INSPECTION OF THE PARKING OF VEHICLES THEREIN BY THE USE OF PARKING METERS; PRESCRIBING LIMITS OF TIME' FOR PARKING IN PARKING METER ZONES; PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF ", AND ADDING SECTION 2.1 TO SAID ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows: SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No.. 291 (New Series) , the title of which is set f orth in the title of this ordinance, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 2: The following portions of streets within the City of San Luis Obispo are hereby established as one -hour parking meter zones: The Northerly side of Monterey Street from the Westerly line of the alley behind the Courthouse, Westerly to Chorro Street. The Southerly side of Monterey Street from Osos Street to the Easterly side of Broad Street extended. The Northerly side of Higuera Street from Court Street to Nipomo Street. The Southerly side of Higuera Street from Osos Street to Nipomo. The Northerly side of Marsh Street from Morro Street to Chorro Street, The Southerly side of Marsh Street from the Westerly line of the alley South of the Post Office to Chorro Street. The Easterly side of Court Street only between Monterey Street and Higuera Street. Both sides of Morro Street from Palm Street to Marsh Street, and the Westerly side only of Morro Street from Marsh Street to the alley South of the Post Office. The Easterly side only of Chorro Street between Palm Street and Monterey Street. Both sides of Chorro Street from Monterey Street to Marsh Street. Both sides of Garden Street from Higuera Street to Marsh Street, and both sides of Broad Street from Monterey Street to Marsh Street. SECTION 2. Section 7 of Ordinance No. 291 (New Series), the title of which is set forth in the title of this ordinance, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 7: Parking meters, when installed, shall be so adjusted as either to show legal parking during a period of twelve minutes upon and after the deposit of a United States one cent coin therein, or twenty -four minutes upon and after the deposit of two United States one cent coins therein, or thirty -six minutes upon and after the deposit of three United States one cent coins therein, or forty -eight minutes upon and after the deposit of four United States one cent coins therein, or sixty minutes, upon and after the deposit of five United States one cent coins or one United States five cent coin therein. Provided, however, that in such streets, or portions of streets, as are herein designated as two -hour parking meter zones, said parking meters, when installed, shall be so adjusted as to show legal parking up to a period of two hours in multiples of twelve minutes with '_�10 / T_ t, • the deposit of each United States one cent coin up to ten such coins, allowing a parking period of twelve minutes for each of said coins, and/ or the deposit of a United States five cent coin, up to two such coins, allowing a parking period of sixty minutes for each of said coins. Payments of the aforesaid amounts for the aforesaid periods shall be made for parking in the areas set forth hereinabove. SECTION 3. Section 2.1 is hereby added to Ordinance No. 291 (New Series), the title of which is set f orth in the title of this Ordinance, and which said section shall read as follows: Section 2.1. The following portions of streets within the. City of San Luis Obispo are hereby established as two -hour parking meter zones: B >oth sides of marsh Street from Morro Street to Chorro Street, and both sides of Osos Street from Higuera Street to Palm Street. SECTION 4. This ordinance, together with the Ayes and Noes, shall be published for two days before its final passage in the Telegram- Tribune, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City, and the same shall take effect and.be in force thirty days after its final passage.
