That Section 3215 of the San Luis Obispo Municipal Code shall be and is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 3215 INfiodifying the State Speed Limit on Certain Streets or Portions Thereof. It is hereby determined upon the basis of.an engineering and traffic investi;ation that the speed otherwise permitted by state law upon the following streets does not fall within reasonable or safe limits under the conditions found to exist upon such streets, and it is hereby declared that the prima facie speed lirnit shall be as herein set forth on those streets or parts of streets herein designated when signs are erected giving notice thereof: NAME OF STREET OR PORTION AFFECTED DECLAILED PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT Johnson between southerly city limits and a point midway between Lizzie and Iris Streets 35 Miles Per Hour Higuera between a point midway between South and Madonna Road and Elks Lane 35 Miles Per Hour Higuera between El ks Lane and the southerly City Limits 40 Miles Per Hour California Boulevard frorr: Highway 101 to Foothill Blvd. 35 Miles Per Hour Madonna Road-frorn Los Osos Road to a point 1, 000 feet westerly of its intersection with 101 Freeway 45 Miles Per Hour Elks Lane from Higuera Street to Prado F_oad 35 Miles Per Hour Laurel Lane from Johnson Avenue to Orcutt Road 40 Miles Per Hour Orcutt Road from Broad Street to Johnson Avenue 35 Miles Per Hour SECTION 2. That Section 3215.1 of the San Luis Obispo Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 32 15. 1 Regulation of Speed by Traffic Signals. Upon prior approval of the City Council, the City Engineer is authorized to regulate the timing of traffic signals so as to permit the movement of traffic in an orderly and safe manner at speeds slightly at variance from the speeds otherwise applicable within the district or at intersections, and may erect appropriate signs giving notice thereof. 7� 1W Ordinance No. 396 (1967 Series) Page 2 SECTION 3. That Section 3215.2 and Section 3215.3 of the San Luis Obispo Municipal Code shall be and are hereby repealed and deleted in their entirety. SECTION 4. That this ordinance, together with the ayes and noes, shall be published once in full, at least three (3) days before its final passage in the Telegram - Tribune, a newspaper published and circulated in said City, and the same shall go into effect at the expiration of thirty days after said final passage.
