J. N. REGIER, SUPERINTENDENT
AUGUST 26, 1955
MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIFORNIA
HONORABLE GENTLEMEN:
A LETTER DIRECTED TO.THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE SAN LUIS OBISPO
CITY SCHOOLS CALLED ATTENTION TO THE MATTER OF REZONING A PIECE OF PROPERTY
BOUNDED BY BROAD, UPHAM, AND HIGH STREETS IN THE CITY OF 'SAN LUIS OBISPO*
FOLLOWING A DISCUSSION BY THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION,
ACTION WAS TAKEN WHICH OPPOSES THE REZONING OF.THIS PIECE OF PROPERTY* THE
REASON FOR THE OBJECTION IS BECAUSE OF THE CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THIS PROPERTY
TO THE HAWTHORNE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL• IT IS FELT THAT THE USE OF THIS PROPERTY
FOR HEAVY COMMERCIAL PURPOSES MIGHT PROVE TO BE A DEFINITE OBSTACLE TO PROPER
ENVIRONMENT FOR AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL*
THE BOARD OF EDUCATION WILL APPRECIATE YOUR CONSIDERATION OF THIS
OBJECTION•
VERY RESPECTFULLY YOURS,
i
A. G. WILSON, SECRETARY
BOARD OF EDUCATION
