CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION AND SUBt,ITTING TO THE QUALIFIED
VOTERS OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO THE PROPOSITION OF
AUTHORIZING THE COUNCIL OF SAID CITY TO LEVY A SPECIAL TAX
FOR PEIUIL1ENT STREET ILI'ROVEITENTS AND CONSOLIDATING SAID
ELECTION WITH THE ELECTION CALLED BY ORDINANCE NO. 87 (NEVI
SERIES) .
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San
Luis Obispo, as follows:
SECTION 1. A special municipal election is hereby
called and the proposition of authorizing the Council of
said City to levy upon all taxable real and personal
property within the City of San Luis Obispo a special tax
for the fiscal year of said city beginning on the lst day
of July, 1922, of $0.30 upon each x$,100.00 in value of
said property for the purpose hereinafter specified,
is submitted and at said election will be submitted to the
qualified voters of said city.
SECTION 2. The purpose of said levy is to provide
money for a fund which is hereby created and which shall be
known as the "Street Intersection Pavement fund ". The money
of said fund shall be used as directed by the Council for
the purpose of paving the intersections of any streets
within said city.
SECTION 3. The matter of holding said election
shall be as follows:
1. As provided for in this Ordinance.
2: As provided by law for holding elections of
the kind herein called in said City.
Tickets must b.e.of ordinary election ticket paper
and such size and shape as to contain the proposition to
be submitted at the election hereby called. The

heading of such tickets must be, !'Special Municipal Election,
City of can Luis Obispo ". The proposition to be submitted
at said election must be printed on such tickets as follows:
Authorizing special tax levy for
paving street.intersections.
YES
NO
Said words "YES" and "NO" shall be opposite said proposition
to be voted on, and in separate lines and opposite each of
said words "YES" and "NO" there shall be a voting square.
Each voter shall indicate his wish to vote in
favor of the proposition by stamping or causing to be stamped
a cross (X) in the voting square opposite the word "YES" and
shall indicate his wish to vote against the proposition
by stamping or causing to be stamped a cross fX) in
the voting square opposite the word "NO ".
The following shall be printed at the top of the
face of the ticket:
"INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS
To vote in favor of the proposition stamp a cross
(X) in the voting square opposite the word 'YES'.
To vole against the proposition stamp a cross
(X) in the voting square opposite the word':aNOI.
All marks except the cross (X) are forbidden.
All distinguishing marks or erasures are forbidden
and make the ballot void.
If you wrongly stamp, tear or deface this ballot,
return it to the Inspector of Election and obtain another:
SECTION 4. Said election is hereby called for and
shall be held on the 29th day of May, 1922, in said City
of %an Luis Obispo, and notice thereof is hereby given.
SECTION 5. The election called by this Ordinance
is hereby consolidated with the election called by Ordinance
No. 87. (New Series), GALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION AND 9,UBM1IT=
TING TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
THE PROPOSITION OF INCURRING•A DEBT AND BONDING SAID CITY
MR CERTAIN IRTITICIPAL IMPROVEIJENTS. And the precin6ts,
polling places and officers of election for the purposes of
the election hereby called shall be the same as those set
forth in said Ordinance 87 (New Series).
SECTION 6. Notice of the election hereby called
shall be given by publication of this ordinance as provided
in Section 8 hereof, and no other notice need be given.
SECTION 7. This ordinance is hereby declared to
be urgent and immediately necessary to the immediate preser-
vation of the public peace, health and safety and shall
take effect from and after its final passage.
SECTION 8. This ordinance, together with the Ayes
and Noes, shall be published for two days in the "Morning
Tribune" a newspaper printed, published and. circulated in
said City, before its final passage, and shall thereafter
be published once a day for at least seven days before
said election in said "14orning Tribune" a daily newspaper
printed, published and circulated at least six days a week
in said city.
