HomeMy WebLinkAbout09061 'A< ORDINANCE NO. 906 (1981 Series) AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO ESTABLISHING A JOINT RECREATIONAL USE OF SCHOOL DISTRICT PROPERTY COMMITTEE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows: SECTION 1. Part 7 hereby is added to Chapter 4 of the Article II of the San Luis Obispo Municipal Code to read as follows: "Part 7. Joint Recreational Use of School District Property Committee. SECTION 2470. CREATED. There is hereby established the Joint Recreational Use of School District Property Committee of the City. SECTION 2470.1. COMPOSITION. The Joint Recreational Use of School District Property Committee shall consist of seven members; provided that one member shall be appointed by the City Council from the Parks and Recreation Commission. SECTION 2470.2. TERM OF OFFICE. (a) Members shall be appointed by the City Council for terms of (2) years which shall commence immediately upon appointment by the City Council. Commissioners shall serve at the pleasure of the City Council and may be reappointed; provided that no appointee shall serve more than four (4) consecutive full terms (8 years). Appointment for a partial term of office following an unscheduled vacancy shall not preclude the appointee from serving four (4) consecutive full terms following completion of the partial terms, provided the partial term is less than one (1) year. Commissioners who have served for six or more consecutive years at the time this ordinance becomes effective shall be eligible for reappointment to no more than one additional term. (b) Vacancies shall be filled for unexpired terms. (c) Such elements of the Council adopted Handbook for Advisory Bodies as apply to the Joint Recreational Use of School District Property Committee shall be incorporated herein by reference. It is the purpose of the Joint Recreational Use of School District Property Committee to advise the Council and San Luis Coastal Unified School District regarding: (a) policy for operation of school district joint use recreational facilities; (b) priorities for granting use of school district facilities; (c) planning for balanced integration of school district property being developed.' SECTION 2. This Ordinance, together with the ayes and noes, shall be published once in full, at least three (3) days prior to its final passage in the Telegram- Tribune, a newspaper published and circulated in said City, and the same shall go into effect at the expiration of thirty (30) days after its said final passage. INTRODUCED AND PASSED TO PRINT by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo at a meeting held on the 6th day of October, 1981, on motion of Councilman Dun in seconded by Councilman Settle and on the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Dunin, Settle, Dovey, Griffin and Mayor Billig NOES: None ABSENT: None C.
