SLO already has more alcohol outlets per capita than any other city in the state of California according to the California Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. This project is designed to pander to the out -of -control Cal Poly after hours population who litter our streets with trash and vomit. Is this really how we want our town to develop ? What we need and want downtown is more retail and diversity, not another play -pen for students. As a long time tax payer in this city, I call upon this Council to direct Staff to come up with a change of policy regulating city alcohol outlets. We are a town of families and retirees who need to feel safe and welcome on the streets of San Luis Obispo after dark. This bowling alley and drinking hole belong at the edge of town, not in our historic downtown, just blocks from the Mission. I urge this Council to create a new policy limiting alcohol outlets downtown. Please put this discussion on the agenda immediately. Diane Duenow San Luis Obispo
