Dear City Council members As the issue of the proposed bowling alley will be coming before you, i have a few comments. I am 61 years old and started bowling when i was 6 (six). I was in bowling leagues for many years of my life including the faculty/staff league at cal poly. I bowled at Laurel Lanes before it became an Alzheimers center. (hope i don't move in there one day!). If someone is really serious about owning a bowling alley complex, the only way it will succeed is to have leagues. This is a financial imperative to survive. No bowling alley can survive on the random walk in's, that wants to bowl a line or two. This concerns me about this project. With only 13 lanes, it would be next to impossible to have a series of league plays, it's just too small. I have wondered if this is actually a front for other reasons, i.e. a desire to sell alcohol. I hope that everyone is doing their homework about this, because if it is, we are going to strike out if it is approved! Best of the holiday to all of you!
