Dear Mayor Marx,
am very concerned about the proposal for a bowling alley, with several eating and drinking
venues, in the middle of town. There are two things that are most troubling to me. One is
the noise, both of the bowling and of the crowds of people that may be gathering to get in
to the entertainment. The other is the addition of more bars, which may contribute to public
drunkenness, more noise, or fights. I understand that the project is planning for five bars.
This seems really excessive for this small city, considering that there are already about 11
drinking establishments down town. In addition, there would be more demand for parking.
Bowling is a good and healthy activity, but I would prefer to see it at the edges of town or in
a less congested place.
Thank you for listening.
