My concern is not so much with the questionable business practices of the developers because we have had nefarious developers operating in San Luis in the past. My concern is with the further degradation of our once family -friendly and functional downtown. I remember spending many happy hours shopping and actually finding things that I needed in the downtown. I haven't shopped downtown in years. It has turned into an open air bar where any behavior is tolerated. How many extra police have been hired at taxpayer expense to control the alcohol induced behavior and crime? The California Alcoholic Beverage Control Board has repeatedly stated that our downtown, compared to other cities in the State, has an over -concentration of bars, taverns and alcohol outlets. Why would you allow this trend to continue unchecked? Since the City works so closely and has so much influence now with Cal Poly and their Master Plan, why not suggest that this mega bar be located on the campus where it belongs. Linda White
