Thank you for listening. Michael Hicks 805.234.8443 michaeltaylorhicks(igmail.com September 9, 2015 Mayor and City Council City of San Luis Obispo 990 Palm Street San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 Re: 1144 Chorro Street — Discovery San Luis Obispo Dear Mayor and Members of the City Council, I am in full support of the project at 1144 Chorro Street, Discovery Bowling. This would be a great addition, as it is very compatible with our existing downtown. It brings a multi use facility to downtown that would be a great attraction community wide to both locals and tourists. As a father of 2 young boys, I am excited to take them there! It is something different that this community has been missing since the closing of the bowling alley on Laurel Lane. In addition, having this type of facility downtown would be a great attraction to the people that want to live and work downtown. Having a place that serves food late at night would be a big plus since all you have currently downtown at late night are bars. The food service would be a benefit to other existing bars downtown and would certainly be an improvement by providing food to the late night visitors. Please know that not all SLO residents are anti bar. Some, like me, are proponents of adding something new to downtown SLO. This won't be another college bar managed by the same company that owns most of the college bars downtown. It will be a place that I will take my 2 boys, and I believe it will be a welcomed addition to downtown. Thank you, Mike Hicks
