While I agree with Save Our Downtown that that there are a high number of bars downtown, I can't understand their inability to look past the fact that alcohol will be served when the focus of Discovery also includes not just food but bowling. I would love to have more downtown destinations like this for local residents. A place parents can bring kids. A place I can go and hang out with friends and loved one, a place to bring visiting out-of-towners. I live in the Old Town district of SLO and I am not worried about Discovery San Luis Obispo single-handedly causing a plummet in the quality of life enjoyed in my neighborhood. I am concerned that setting a precedent of blocking this development and unevenly restricting their hours of operation will prohibit a valuable, much needed broadening of recreational, social and economic activities and opportunities in Downtown San Luis Obispo. Sincerely, Steve Akers San Luis Obispo Resident
