Bowling alley vote
I live in San Luis Obispo for the past several years and during my college year. I have been following the Bowling Alley
development project. As a person who doesn't drink I was excited to hear about the proposal for a way to enjoy downtown outside of
shopping or watching a movie. I recognize Discovery Lanes has a club like atmosphere in the evening, regardless, I look forward to
visiting during the day with with friends and my husband. I am thrilled to see an activity based venue downtown, want to see this
project approved, and feel it would enhance the downtown area. Recognizing the complexity of community and economic impacts
related to alcohol selling venues I think city staff have made the proper recommendation in denying both appeals listed on
the September 15th agenda. The City Council has my support in approving the staff recommendation and approving the Bowling
Alley development.
