Subject: Discovery San Luis Obispo- Public Comment
Dear Mayor Marx and City Council Members,
My name is Dianna Beck and I am the Outdoors Director for the Central Coast Chapter of the Young
Professionals Networking Group (YPNG). YPNG is a 501 c(4) non - profit organization that connects local
young professionals with community events, professional seminars, and various social networking
functions. We represent over 850 young professionals in San Luis Obispo in their 20s, 30s, and
40s. Many of our members have vocalized support for this project and would love to see the success of
this unique project.
I am a 28 year old Cal Poly alumni and I live within a 5 minute walking distance to the proposed project
location. I'd like to voice my support for this project and urge the City Council to deny the appeal filed
by Save Our Downtown. I also would like to show support for the City Council to uphold the applicant's
appeal and remove the condition limiting hours of operation to midnight. This project is exactly what
our downtown needs! Currently, the major activities offered downtown are shopping, eating, and
drinking. Adding a bowling alley to the area would draw more people with different interests
downtown- families, students, adolescents, and young professionals would all benefit from this
project. I believe this project will be a great addition to our downtown.
Sincerely,
Dianna Beck
San Luis Obispo Resident
