COUNCIL MEETING:
ITEM NO.: IL
Unfortunately I cannot make the SLO City Council meeting tonight. However I would like to
voice my opinion of this project as a resident and homeowner in San Luis Obispo. I both work
for PG&E and attend Cal Poly University as a Graduate Student.
I am very much in favor of the proposed project. It would provide a place to go and actually do
something downtown. While there are numerous outside activities during the summer such as
farmers and concerts in the plaza, there presently is not much to do downtown outside of the
movie theater during winter/when no events are taking place. This project would be a nice
alternative to all the bars that that do not provide much other than a drinking location downtown
and would be a potentially nice replacement for SLOBrew as a place to see music. One thing I
have always loved is the ability to see lots of live music downtown and we are losing that ability
soon.
It will also be nice to see something take over this empty property. It is a large property that has
sat empty for years. Not really a great look for our downtown.
I believe a popular venue would be a huge improvement over this empty store front and
potentially provide our town with something we solely lack.
Please consider sticking with your initial decision. This project has great potential to be a major
positive to our downtown.
