We will be asking the members /players at large to approve the list of volunteers at the Oct. 16,
meeting, if ratified, they will become your board members of SLO Pickleball.
We will stop play at 11:00 a.m. and walk over to the Community Center where we store the
equipment. PLEASE plan on attending the meeting even if you cannot play that day. It is a
very important moment in the life of our club and pickleball in general, in the city of
San Luis Obispo. Every person is important to the success of this venture.
Bring a snack for yourself, if you need to. Meeting should not last more than an hour.
We are still updating the sign -in sheet. The city of SLO has requested that we sign our full
name, initials are not acceptable. Your signature acknowledges you read the waiver.
It has been one year since we began this adventure. In January of 2015 the Dept. of
Recreation and Parks gave us one year to put a program together. We went from a half -dozen
people to a membership list of over 120. We are now ready to take the next step by
establishing a club with aboard of officers and a large membership. Hopefully the city will take
the next step by providing us with permanent courts.
It has been a long road and John and I would like to be the first to congratulate each and every
one of you that supported us in our dream of bringing pickleball to the city of San Luis Obispo.
