Subject: Mission Plaza Holiday Cedar Tree
Dear Esteemed Council Members,

I'm writing to show my support for the lovely, regal, cedar tree recently planted in the Mission
Plaza. It brings another welcomed element of verdant lushness without the extreme water use of
other types of evergreens. The fact that it can fill in as a Holiday tree every year is a added bonus.
feel 'greener' already knowing that we are not cutting and trucking a tree from Oregon. What savings
we will reap as this tree flourishes.
I support the placement of the tree as it enhances the visual of the Mission, almost framing it as you
stand in the plaza. One thing to note is that the Church could really stand to prune the trees directly
next to the sanctuary, their overgrowth is not only messy and hides the architecture but poses a risk
with the wet weather the county is anticipating this season.
Please keep the cedar where it is and allow the generations of SLO residents to enjoy it's beauty.
Respectfully,
Landy Fike
