Subject: Tree in Mission Plaza
Dear City Council,
COUNCIL MEETING "0 5_2x "
ITEM NO.:_.1_
F 03 2015
ITY Ci.r -Pw
Hello my name is Kelsey and I am a senior at Mission College Prep. As a student I have gone to many graduations
held in Mission Plaza. I love seeing the joyful tears of family members when their loved ones receive their diplomas.
Now it is my turn along with my classmates to make our parents proud. It's a day for our family to be proud of the effort
we have put in. The tree that is now planted in front of the stairs by the bear water fountain is a problem. Most family
members travel a long way to see their loved one get a diploma and graduate. The class of 2015 had the whole mission
plaza packed even past the water fountain. Our class, my class of 2016, if a lot bigger and so more people will come and
we will need more room for our families to see us. It's not just affecting one year. It also affects the years after us, the
many classes to come, as each class is growing in size. I am not asking you to cut down the tree and waste it. I am asking
you to replant it somewhere else that may benefit everyone and make our mission plaza even better.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I'm looking forward to the outcome.
Sincerely,
Kelsey Launchbaugh
