HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-21-2015 SS1 KeatingPage 1 of 1 I live in The Meadows area - encompassing Mariposa, Praderas and Chuparrosa streets in San Luis Obispo. In biking in this area yesterday, out of curiosity, I counted 23 houses where garbage cans were clearly visible from the middle of the street. Does the city have any plans to enforce this section of the SLO Municipal Code in my neighborhood in the near future? Thank you. Thomas Keating 75 Chuparrosa May 10, 2013 vnr- City Manager - Community Development Office- AGENDA CORRESPONDENCE Date 5 12 1113 Item # S61 RECEIVED MAY 14 2013 SLO CITY CLERK It's been a while since I sent this email regarding the non - enforcement of this city ordinance,sc 1 hereby submit a 'progress' report. 1 rode thru my neighborhood yesterday afternoon and counted 32 residences with one or more garbage containers visible from the street. One residence (my immediate neighbor at 73 Chuparrosa) wins the prize with all three garbage containers visible, plus in recent weeks he has added an old wheel barrow, a childs bike, a gas - powered lawn mower, a metal and plastic Christmas tree stand and a crumpled plastic tarp to his collection of debris on the east side of his house, fully visible to me and everyone else in the neighborhood. With this kind of progress, I can only imagine what I'll be able to include in my subsequent reports to the city. Does the city plan on enforcing its ordinance anytime soon? If the city is unable or unwilling to enforce this ordinance, are there plans to repeal it?
