Subject: Fw: City Comments to Cal Poly Regarding their Master Plan Udate
Hi Michael,
I read your letter regarding Business item 5 in Council Correspondence last night. My sincere apologies; I
referenced the wrong portion of Part 1 of the September 15, 2015, council video in the email below.
Even though the reference and the communication that transpired are correct, the important part of the
interchange occurred after Council's vote. That was when Mayor Marx summed up the vote and clearly
stated that their vote regarding the Guiding Principles for the Cal Poly Master Plan update incorporated the
Land Use and Circulation Element policies and the 1999 Neighborhood Relations Task Force
Recommendations. She then reiterated that this was council's direction (see Part 1 of the video at
approximately 65min /35sec to 66min /25sec).
Although the meeting to discuss this item is next Tuesday, I am hopeful that the Staff Report and the
draft Resolution can be amended to reflect council direction, specifically the incorporation of the 1999
Neighborhood Relations Task Force Recommendations, prior to the meeting. If you have any questions I
can meet with or speak with you at your convenience.
Thank you for your patience,
Sandy

Subject: City Comments to Cal Poly Regarding their Master Plan Udate
Mayor Marx and Members of the Council,
On September 15, 2015, the council received an initial staff report regarding proposed City input to the
Cal Poly Master Plan Update. Attachment B to that staff report was the "1999 Neighborhood Relations
Task Force Recommendations" document.
Near the end of staff's presentation Mayor Marx asked for confirmation from staff that (the above
referenced) attachment B would be included with the comments Council would provide to Cal Poly. Staff
affirmed that the document would be included. (See September 15, 2015 video, Part 1 at approximately
49 minutes, 27 seconds.)
Unfortunately, the 1999 Neighborhood Relations Task Force Recommendations was erroneously omitted as
an attachment to the staff report for November 17, 2015. In addition, the draft Resolution contains no
reference to the document nor any mention of the recommendations contained therein.
Request this omission be corrected before the meeting, if possible.
Thank you for the opportunity for us to participate in these very important recommendations to Cal Poly.
Sincerely,
Sandra Rowley
Chairperson, RQN
